Climate change is now being recognised as a serious
threat to life on this planet. Reducing our carbon
emissions will help reduce the impacts of climate
change.
One way of reducing the impacts of carbon is to offset
emissions by planting trees. Trees act as a carbon
sink, tying up the carbon in their tissues. Offsetting is
one strategy which can be used in the fight against
greenhouse gases and global warming. It is essential
we also reduce our carbon footprint.
Oz GREEN’s Trees for Timor project is a fantastic new
initiative in our ongoing work in Oecusse, East Timor.
